Farhad Abdi is a multidisciplinary Iranian artist whose work traverses painting, drawing, animation, and graphic design. With a career spanning over two decades, Farhad’s practice is defined by a minimalist yet emotionally charged visual language that blends abstraction and figuration. His compositions explore the inner life of the human condition—quietly meditative, often symbolic, and structured around themes of resilience, solitude, and psychological transformation.
While abstraction remains central to much of his visual work, Farhad also actively engages in figurative art. In recent years, he has developed a distinctive body of figural characters originating from his visual narratives, which reflect his interest in identity, absurdity, and the intersection of personal mythology and contemporary critique.
Farhad’s artistic background began in visual storytelling. His award-winning short animations and early work in screenwriting continue to shape the rhythm and narrative sensitivity of his static compositions. His technique—marked by confident black lines, limited color palettes, and reductive forms—delivers concentrated emotional impact through structural clarity and expressive restraint.
Farhad views art as a space for reflection and presence. His paintings often resist noise and spectacle, instead inviting viewers into an introspective space where simplicity becomes a tool for resonance. Whether working on canvas or in sculptural forms, his process is grounded in intuition, silence, and repetition—offering a meditative counterpoint to the visual saturation of contemporary culture.
Based in the UAE, Farhad has exhibited widely in international art spaces, collaborating with both cultural institutions and independent galleries. His practice continues to evolve across disciplines, combining the quietude of painting with the storytelling of figurative forms, and expanding into object-making that bridges the symbolic with the tangible.
